The Housekeeping Director
Police are puzzled how a man could end up dead inside a motel room in Quezon City without management knowing who and how many were the occupants.
Maximilian Valencia, 47, a resident of Gloria 2 subdivision, Tandang Sora, Quezon City was found dead at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night inside Room 625 of a popular motel chain along EDSA. He was believed robbed and killed.
Valencia suffered multiple stab wounds in the chest, according to PO3 Erickson Isidro. The bladed weapon believed used in the attack was recovered.
Room attendant John Rick Guevarra recounted that he was cleaning the room when he noticed a foul smell.
He informed supervisor Arnel Catan about the odor and the two tried to look for the source which turned out to be Valencia’s body hidden underneath the bed.
Isidro said he was able to talk with Valencia’s friend who brought the victim to the motel at 2 p.m. Saturday supposedly to meet a lady buyer.
He confirmed that the victim was carrying eight mobile phones and two laptops. All the items were not in the room when Valencia’s body was found.
The motel management could not provide additional information except saying that the unidentified occupant or occupants checked in at Room 625 Friday night.
In the meantime, Isidro said that they have secured copies of the footage of the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera of the floor where the room is located. (Jeffrey G. Damicog)
